This policy explains what personal information Mini Golf Planet (minigolfplanet.com) collects, why, and how you can exercise your rights. We collect as little as possible.
Who we are
The site is operated by Gestion Totem Inc., a company based in Québec, Canada. The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the President of Gestion Totem Inc. You can reach us about any privacy question or request at our email address.
What we collect
You can use the site without creating an account. We do not sell your personal information for money. The information collected is limited to:
- Forms you send us (“Report an error”, “Suggest a mini golf”, “Claim this listing”): the information you type, such as your name, role, email address, phone number and message. Email and phone are only used to answer you or to verify a listing claim.
- Owner mailing list (“Notify me when plans launch” on our page for course owners): your email address, and if you give them your name, course and country, the crew members you selected in the price calculator, and a record of your consent (the exact text you accepted, the date and the page). We use them only to send you news about Mini Golf Planet for course owners. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Anti-spam protection: to limit abuse, we keep a one-way, non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address for one hour. We do not store your IP address itself with your message.
- “Near me” searches: when you allow it, your browser shares your location; we round it to about 1 km and only use it to sort the list of courses. It is not stored.
- Technical data: our host records standard technical logs (IP address, browser, device, pages requested, referring page, time of the visit) for security and maintenance.
- Audience measurement: Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to measure pages viewed, time spent on the site and approximate country and city, so we can improve the site.
- Advertising: ads on the site are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and, with your consent where required, personalize them based on your visits to this and other websites. Your IP address may be shared with Google and its advertising platforms (such as Google Ads, Display & Video 360 and Authorized Buyers) to show ads relevant to your location and to detect fraud.
Cookies and your consent
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising and analytics cookies are used, through a consent message certified by Google. You can accept, refuse or choose your options, and change your choice at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link below.
Visitors from U.S. states with privacy laws (such as California) can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising through the Do not sell or share my personal information link displayed on the site.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings, and block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party services on our pages
- Maps: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap; your browser contacts their servers to display the map.
- Facebook: some course pages show a preview of the course’s Facebook Page. It is only loaded when you scroll to it, and Facebook may set cookies according to its own policy.
- Content libraries: map scripts are loaded from cdnjs (Cloudflare), which may receive your IP address.
- Email service: emails to the owner mailing list will be sent through Cyberimpact, an email service provider based in Canada, which processes your email address on our behalf only.
Course information and photos
Course pages are built from official websites and open data (Google Places identifiers, OpenStreetMap). Logos and photos belong to their owners and are shown with a link to the official website. Course owners can ask for any correction or removal through the “Claim this listing” or “Report an error” forms.
Where your information is processed
Some of our service providers (such as Google, Facebook, Cloudflare and our web host) may process information outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States. We use recognized providers that offer protections for these transfers.
How long we keep information
- Server and security logs: usually a few weeks.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Messages sent through our forms: as long as needed to handle them, then deleted within 24 months.
- Owner mailing list: until you unsubscribe; the record of your consent is kept for 3 years after that, as proof required by anti-spam laws.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Québec’s Law 25, Canada’s PIPEDA, the European GDPR or U.S. state laws), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent or object to its use. Write to our email address or use the forms on this site; we answer within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
